HONOR Magic6 Pro To Bring 2nd Gen Cutting-Edge Silicon-Carbon Battery Tech

The HONOR Magic6 Pro, recently teased and set to launch globally at MWC 2024 with an outstanding camera system, has successfully undergone a series of extreme battery challenges, showcasing its cutting-edge 2nd-generation Silicon-carbon Battery technology.

This advanced battery system, which is also used in the Magic V2 (check out our review here), excels in delivering impressive performance even in extremely low-temperature conditions, positioning the device as an ideal choice for users in cold climates or engaging in winter sports activities.

A notable feature of this flagship is its utilization of silicon-based negative electrode material, a pioneering move by HONOR that enhances power density and facilitates rapid charging. This innovative approach sets HONOR apart as the first smartphone manufacturer to conduct in-depth studies on silicon-based negative electrode material, pushing the boundaries of power density and fast charging in the industry.

Interestingly, Tesla has also been exploring silicon chemical structures in the automotive sector since 2016, indicating a parallel focus on silicon’s potential across different industries.

The Magic6 Pro’s battery stands out as the first to incorporate a standalone chipset, a significant enhancement that further elevates its performance in diverse scenarios, particularly excelling in low-temperature environments, with the capability to function effectively at temperatures as low as -20℃ (PhoneBuff did a lab test for that).

This feature is particularly advantageous for users engaging in activities such as mountain climbing or skiing, where extreme cold conditions are prevalent (like the space, for example).

We will have more interesting information about the HONOR Magic6 Pro in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned if you want to know more about this device and the HONOR Magic6 Series.
