No, the Huawei P40 will not have a graphene battery

Huawei France may have packed up too fast. On December 23, the brand's communications department in France did not make the best choice on Twitter, sharing a rumor not confirmed by Huawei. The latter put forward the idea that the next P40 would be equipped with a graphene battery.

The source of this unofficial information is a certain Yash Raj Chaudhary. Renowned for publishing leaks about the new smartphones, the man would have been wrong this time. Huawei France has deleted its tweet, and the brand has taken care to make a statement.

A classic battery for the Huawei P40

This graphene battery could however have been a great step forward for Huawei. It would have been the first manufacturer to offer a graphene battery, a technology allowing to carry a larger charge in a smaller space.

" This is a rumor, not official information at all. "Huawei said, taking care to put aside that suspicion about the features of the next P40. From now on, we shouldn't hear about any new battery technology for the next smartphone, which will carry a classic lithium-ion module.

Now the P40 is surrounded by more rumors on its screen. Like the Mate 30 in October, Huawei should put the package on the touchscreen of its next flagship.

It is predicted that the screen resolution will be 2K, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Best of all, the work to get the screen on the front panel seems to have paid off. The next P40's OLED screen could reach 98%, an exceptionally high ratio.

Let's end with bad news. Like the P30 and P30 Pro, the P40 should not take over the Play Store and Google apps. The smartphone will still run Android 10 with the EMUI 10 overlay, but will indeed be deprived of GMS (Google Mobile Service). See you next March in Paris to discover the new smartphone.
